Accounts and tax for Irish businesses, prepared plainly.

A two–partner Chartered firm working with 86 limited companies and a quiet list of sole traders, partnerships and non–resident landlords. Fixed fees where the job allows. Your CT1 filed three weeks early, not three weeks late.

§ 01 · Tax returns filed 2025 1,247

Form 11, CT1, VAT, P30 and RTD returns lodged through ROS last year.

§ 02 · Assets under advisory €182M

Across SMEs, professional practices and property–holding companies.

§ 03 · Combined experience 38 yrs

Two Chartered partners on every significant engagement, not a rotating junior.

§ 04 · Revenue audit response 24 h

From the moment a Notification of Audit arrives. We answer first, panic never.

Section 02 Who we look after

Five kinds of client, nothing bigger.

We keep the list short on purpose. It is the only way two partners can stay on every file, meet every deadline and still return a phone call the same afternoon. If your business is outside the five below, we will say so honestly and point you to someone who fits.

01 Sole traders Contractors, consultants, tradespeople and single–owner service businesses filing Form 11 annually, with or without preliminary tax exposure. 412 active files
02 Partnerships General partnerships and professional practices — solicitors, architects, medical groups — including Form 1 (Firms) and partner’s allocations on Form 11. 34 active files
03 Limited companies CRO–registered private companies limited by shares, up to audit exemption thresholds. Full statutory accounts, iXBRL filing and CT1 preparation under FRS 102 Section 1A. 86 active files
04 Owner–managed SMEs Husband–and–wife and founder–led companies where directors draw salary plus dividends and need joint advice on personal tax, pensions and extraction strategy. 58 active files
05 Non–resident landlords Irish rental property owned by individuals living abroad. Collection agent duties, annual Form 11, and reconciliation with HMRC self–assessment for UK–based clients. 73 active files
Section 03 The two people on your file

Partners, not account managers.

Every client at Magee & Co. is allocated one partner as engagement lead. Your initial meeting, your annual planning call and any letter that touches Revenue are handled by that partner directly. Junior staff support the work; they do not run it.

Section 04 Services & published fees

Prices, in writing, before we start.

Eight line items below cover the majority of the work we do. Each has a starting fee — the figure you pay where the records are reasonably complete and the year is straightforward. We scope anything above that figure in an email before we open the engagement letter. No surprises and no hourly meters running quietly.

01 Year–end accounts — sole trader · Form 11 filed with Revenue via ROS from450 +VAT
02 Year–end accounts — limited company · FRS 102 1A, iXBRL tagged, CRO filed from1,200 +VAT
03 Corporation tax return (CT1) · standard company, one trade from350 +VAT
04 Income tax return (Form 11) · individual, PAYE + rental or trade from225 +VAT
05 Payroll processing — per month · up to 5 staff, P30 and RTD included from45 +VAT
06 Revenue audit support · audit representation, billed hourly from150 /hr
07 VAT registration + first return · TR1/TR2, first bi–monthly filing from285 +VAT
08 Company formation (CRO A1) · fixed, inclusive of CRO filing fee 395 all–in
A note on fees. Where we quote “from”, the figure assumes the client provides reasonably complete records — bank statements reconciled, invoices matched to payments, no gaps in VAT periods. Where records need reconstructing we bill the additional time at €95/hr + VAT and agree a cap before starting. We do not take a percentage of any tax saving, and we do not share commission with software vendors.
Section 05 How we work

Three decisions that shape every file.

These are the operating choices clients ask about most often. We publish them here so you know before signing the engagement letter whether our approach fits yours.

§ A · Pricing

Fixed fees where the job allows it.

Company accounts, CT1s, Form 11s and payroll are quoted as fixed annual fees. Audit representation, disputed tax and one–off advisory are hourly. The engagement letter you sign names the deliverables, the fee and the end date. If scope changes, we email before we bill.

Annual · Hourly · Project
§ B · Deadlines

Filed three weeks early, not three weeks late.

Company CT1s are drafted in month seven of the nine–month window. Form 11s are circulated in the first week of October. October 31st is a review date here, not a filing date. If your records reach us by month six we guarantee the early draft; after that we queue in order of arrival.

ROS agent · 9–month CT1 · 31 Oct Form 11
§ C · Software

Cloud accounting — Xero, Sage or Surf.

New clients who are still on spreadsheets are migrated to one of Xero, Sage Business Cloud or Surf Accounts within the first three months. We are Xero Certified Advisors but we do not push it where another package fits better. No commission from any vendor, ever.

Xero Certified · Sage Business Cloud · Surf Accounts
Section 06 Next filing deadlines

What Revenue expects, and when.

The three dates below are the filing obligations most of our client base faces in the coming quarter. We send reminders on the 1st of the preceding month, but you should already have these pinned to your wall.

Deadline 01 · Corporation tax 23 MAY 2026 CT1 · year–end 31 August 2025 Nine months after year–end (rounded to the 23rd for ROS). Preliminary tax, balancing payment and CT1 submission all fall on the same date.
Deadline 02 · VAT bi–monthly 19 JUL 2026 VAT3 · May–June 2026 period 19th of the month following period end, extended to 23rd if filing and paying together through ROS. RTD due by 23rd of the same month.
Deadline 03 · Income tax 31 OCT 2026 Form 11 · 2025 tax year Paper deadline. ROS extended deadline typically falls mid–November — we do not wait for it. Preliminary tax for 2026 is due the same day.
